Classical Education for All: A Workshop on Disability and Classical Education

Join us at the 2026 National Symposium for Classical Education for a critical pre-conference workshop focused on welcoming students with disabilities and learning differences into classical schools.
Led by Amy Richards, author of Disability and Classical Education: Student Formation in Keeping with Our Common Humanity, and Thomas Doebler, Sr. Director of Exceptional Student Services at Great Hearts Academies, this workshop will explore practical strategies and classical perspectives for building truly inclusive classrooms. You’ll learn how the presence of diverse learners not only allows every student to thrive but also enriches the entire school community.
Participants will be introduced to the concept of “Doxological Classrooms”—spaces designed to celebrate the beauty, dignity, and unique potential of every student. By viewing our classrooms through the lens of “doxology” (the study of glory), we are reminded to recognize and admire the inherent goodness in each learner as the foundation for a welcoming, classical environment.
Together, Richards and Doebler will guide attendees through both the theory and practical methods for fostering schools grounded in a robust classical vision of the human person. Attendees will leave with actionable ideas and a renewed commitment to making classical education accessible and transformative for all.
Be part of the conversation—register for the 2026 Symposium and sign up for this important workshop!

Cost:

  • $125 stand-alone
  • $90 as add-on to any other Symposium Registration
