Robert Maranto

Robert Maranto (PhD, Minnesota, 1989) is the 21st Century Chair in Leadership at the Department of Education Reform at the University of Arkansas and has served on his local school board.

Dr. Maranto currently serves on the board of the American Academy for Liberal Accreditation, and on the Arkansas Advisory Committee of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission. He does extensive work on school choice, school reform, educational leadership, and higher education reform. He edits the Journal of School Choice. With others, Bob has produced over ninety peer reviewed articles and fifteen scholarly books so boring his own mother refused to read them, including Educating Believers: Religion and School Choice (Routledge, 2020), Homeschooling in the 21st Century (Routledge, 2018), and President Obama and Education ReformĀ (Palgrave/Macmillan, 2012). He co-edited the forthcoming National Association of Scholars report Social Justice Verses Social Science: White Fragility, Implicit Bias, and Diversity Training. Bob has written numerous commentaries for outlets including the Wall Street Journal, National Review, and The Hill. Some of his recent scholarship on religious pluralism and ethics was summarized in a National Review piece.
