Christopher Palladino

Dr. Christopher Palladino is an associate professor in the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Cairn University.

Dr. Palladino teaches history, geography, literature and arts, popular culture, and education courses, and is also the head cross country coach. Previously, he was a high school social studies teacher for twelve years in Virginia, and was named the Lynchburg City Teacher of the Year, as well as a Neighborhood Champion by Bank of America. Christopher coached nineteen seasons of varsity soccer and cross-country and was named the District Cross Country Coach of the Year.

Dr. Palladino has served for many years as the section chair on Teaching and Learning for the New York State Political Science Association and as an adjunct professor teaching the history of art for AMBEX (Regensburg, Germany). He regularly leads professional development workshops on interdisciplinary teaching and learning, pedagogy, conversational and dialogical approaches, curriculum development, and integration to teachers throughout the United States and around the world.

His approach to the classroom engages students with both the content and the ideas of their classmates in search of the true, the good, and the beautiful. His innovative interdisciplinary approach uncovers connections across a variety of disciplines, especially with literature, poetry, and the arts. His classes are rich learning communities where students are invested in the content and one another.

Christopher enjoys spending time with his family, long distance trail running, cycling, and traveling. Professionally, his passion is to contribute to education becoming a transformational experience for students. He and his wife, Heather, have two children and have often led book clubs and discussion groups, opening their home to students and friends.
