Art has a festive character that both takes us out of ordinary time and restores us to it while opening us up to each other. I love to think with other people— through books, reading aloud, conversation inside and outside the classroom.
I love the community that takes shape around this form of thought and love. I love light, being outside and feasting with others. I am married to Christopher Perrin, and have four children: Zoe, Noelle, Noah, Scott; and three godchildren: Elle, Michelle Matrona, and Grace Catherine.
