The Templeton Honors College at Eastern University has several great programs for classical educators looking to grow.


The Master of Arts in Classical Teaching (MAT)

The Master of Arts in Classical Teaching (MAT) is a 30-hour program designed for working teachers in classical charter and private schools. Combining online and in-person courses, the Templeton MAT grounds teachers in the history, theory, and pedagogy of classical teaching. It also includes courses in Special Needs, the Black Intellectual Tradition, School Culture, and individual courses in the True, the Good, and the Beautiful.

The Summer Scholars Program (SSP)

The Summer Scholars Program (SSP) is a college-accredited, residential honors program for High School Students entering their junior or senior years. For eight or nine days students live on Eastern University’s beautiful campus in suburban Philadelphia and engage in serious, college-level academics with Templeton’s own professors and upperclassmen. Courses include “Divorcing the Devil: C. S. Lewis’s Moral Vision”, “Coding with the Ancients: Technology and the Liberal Arts”, “Confronting Dragons: How Good Prevails in Lord of the Rings”, “The Mystery of the Infinite (Discrete Mathematics)”, and “Examining the Examined Life: On a Well-Lived Life”, and others.
