Paideia Classical Community

Emily Maeda

A classical pianist and teacher, Emily Maeda has fostered musical learning in both private and school settings.

Ms. Maeda is the Director of the Upper School at the Paideia Classical Community, a hybrid school for homeschoolers in Ft. Collins, Colorado. She teaches the humanities, speech and debate, and Latin and has overseen the musical program at Paideia for both elementary and secondary students. Along with teaching at Paideia, she performs professionally, directs music at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, and has home-schooled her seven children for the last twenty years. She and her husband own and operate Tree of Life, an award-winning landscape design firm where she enjoys finding the congruence between musical and spatial rhythm. Her greatest joys are reading poetry, making music with her children, and sitting on the porch of her rarely quiet house.
